Gardaí in Longford are appealing for information in relation to an attempted murder in the Springlawn area of the town. The shooting was highlighted on RTÉ's Crimecall show last night. A 74-year-old man was injured at around 7:50pm on Wednesday the 17th of July, when shots were fired through the window. Two men are of interest to investigating Gardaí after being spotted on CCTV whilst a black BMW was found burnt out in a farmyard following the incident.
Gardaí also confirmed on the show last night that some children witnessed the attack in the estate. They are appealing to anyone with any information to contact Longford Garda Station. Meanwhile, Gardaí in Leitrim are investigating a burglary which occurred in the Liscara area of Carrick-on-Shannon last August. They say the break in occurred between 12.55pm and 1.20pm on the 20th of August. Gardaí say cash and a large amount jewellery was taken during the course of the incident. Three suspects have been identified and a grey Audi TT is of interest to local Gardaí. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Carrick on Shannon Garda Station.
