Gardaí in Athlone are appealing for any witnesses following a house fire in the town overnight.
Gardaí say they believe a fire which broke out at a house in Marine View around half past nine last night was started maliciously.
No one was in the house at the time of the blaze which is understood to have caused extensive damage.
