Gardaí have arrested a man in relation to a devastating fire that caused millions of euro of damages in Longford Town.
The blaze swept through a section of Grafton Court in town, closing 13 businesses, with a loss of up to 60 jobs.
Emergency services were called to the incident early on Sunday morning, the 28th of July, bringing it under control and stopping the spread of the fire to Main Street.
Gardaí had appealed for witnesses and those with dashcam footage of the area, and had not ruled out a criminal investigation.
A man in his 50s was arrested in the midlands this morning and is being held in Longford Garda Station, where he can be held for up to 48 hours.
Gardaí continue to investigate all circumstances related to the fire.
