A motorist has been arrested after they was discovered driving double the speed limit past a Longford school while under the influence.
Longford Gardaí carrying out speed checks as part of National Slow Down Day recorded the car traveling at 106 kilometres an hour on the R397 near Stonepark National School.
The driver of the vehicle was stopped and a subsequent roadside drugs test showed a positive result for cocaine and cannabis.
