Companies in the region are being warned to be extra security conscious following an attempted raid at an agri-business outside Ballymahon town last night.
A large amount of garden equipment and tools was stolen from an agri-supplies overnight, but all of it was recovered in fields around the premises when Gardai were called to the scene around 2am this morning.
It's understood that the well-planned raid was organised by a professional gang who were able to disable the security systems in order to carry out the crime.
Gardai believe the gang were possibly disrupted by a local patrol and they are appealing to other business owners to be on their guard.
Inspector Paddy McGirl says the raid has all the appearances of a gang who travel around the country and who use similar methods at each scene:
Local Councillor PatO Toole has praised the garda response and is hopeful that the culprits will be apprehended soon.
