Local Gardaí are currently investigating an alleged assault in Athlone in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The alleged assault occured in the Ashdale area of Athlone town.
A male in his 20s was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury. Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
