Gardaí in Leitrim are warning of the danger of pickpockets in public spaces. The warning comes as Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a woman on the Dublin to Sligo train reported being robbed as she arrived into Carrick On Shannon. According to investigating Gardaí, on the 25th of October, the women was alighting the train at Carrick on Shannon Train station at 11.30 am when her wallet was taken from her bag. She was notified by a fellow passenger of suspicious behaviour and subsequently discovered she had been robbed of a significant amount of cash.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and are asking anyone who noticed anything suspicious to contact them at Carrick Garda Station or on the Garda Confidential line. Garda John Morgan is advising people to keep a close eye on their property when in busy public spaces:
