Longford Roscommon Roads Policing Unit are clamping down on dangerous driving this week.
Gardaí have been conducting speed checkpoints throughout the week across the region, with several cars stopped and fines issued.
Two motorists were stopped on the N5 for driving dangerously over the speed limit with one driver travelling at 154 kph and another 133 kph.
Elsewhere in Longford, a motorist was stopped by Gardaí travelling 134 kph in a 100 zone during severe weather.
Fixed notice penalties were issued to those involved and court proceedings are to follow.
