Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault on an elderly woman in Roscommon over the Christmas period. Gardaí are looking into the incident which occurred in Ballaghaderreen on the 26th of December.
The woman aged in her 70s was brought to Sligo University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The woman was treated for the injuries and has since been released, with Gardaí investigations ongoing.
