A murder investigation is now underway after a 24-year-old man was killed in a hostel in Dublin.
It happened on the south side of the city centre in the early hours of this morning. The man who died was 24 years old, he had been living in a hostel here on Harrington Street. It’s believed he was stabbed during an altercation with another resident.
A 41-year-old man has been arrested and is being questioned at a Dublin garda station. Both men were staying in separate rooms in the hostel and one appears to have gone in to the other man's room, where the row broke out. Gardaí say they received a report of a man with serious injuries just before 5am this morning.
The victim was taken to St James's Hospital, but later died from his injuries. Gardai have been making door to door enquires in the area throughout this afternoon, while forensics have been searching nearby gardens and bins. Anyone with any information are urged contact Kevin Street Garda Station.
