Gardaí in Granard are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision and violent disorder incident which occurred close to a supermarket in Granard on Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 2.30pm, on Barrack Street, Granard a silver Mazda saloon car blocked the road preventing a black Ford saloon from continuing its journey.
A number of individuals exited the silver car armed with weapons and caused damage to the black Ford saloon.
The driver of the black Ford managed to drive away from the scene to Granard Garda Station where a further traffic collision occurred involving the same silver Mazda.
One person sustained minor injuries in the incident and significant damage was caused to the black Ford car.
Gardaí in Granard are investigating and are appealing to anyone who may have doing their shopping around this time or was travelling through Granard on the Main N55 who may have information is asked to contact the Gardaí in Granard.
Gardaí are also appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity and has CCTV footage, footage of the incident on their mobile phone, or dashcam footage to make contact with Gardaí at Granard Garda Station on 043 -6687660 or by calling the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666111.
