Gardai have launched an investigation following a serious assault in Longford overnight.
A man in his early 20s was hospitalised following the incident on main street in Drumlish at approximately 1 o'clock this morning.
He's understood to have suffered serious but non life threatening injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar.
