Members of the public across the region are being urged to take the opportunity to meet some of their local Gardaí today.
A number of 'meet and greet' events are being held around the country today involving the Gardaí, IFA, and the National Rural Safety Forum.
The aim is that members of the community can meet their local Gardaí and talk to them about issues like safety, crime prevention and security.
In Longford, Gardaí are available at the Longford Shopping Centre this afternoon until 4' o clock, and Gardaí in Roscommon are at the Homeland Store in Castlerea until 5 this evening.
Leitrim Supt Chris Grogan is inviting people to meet Gardaí at Supervalu in Manonrhamilton until 4 this afternoon, or at Drumshanbo Mart between 2 and 4 today.
