Gardai responded to more than 48-thousand 4-hundred domestic abuse incidents last year.
It represents a 10 percent increase when compared with figures from 2020.
The number of criminal charges which involved an element of domestic abuse was also up last year by 13 percent, to 8-thousand 6-hundred.
At the start of the pandemic, Gardai launched Operation Faoiseamh to proactively support domestic abuse victims as the country faced its first national lockdown.
Gardai are assuring people that they're still here to support and protect anyone impacted by domestic abuse as Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.
