Gardai warn about scammers targeting people about fake Covid vaccines

Scammers, pretending to be from the HSE, are contacting people about fake Covid-19 vaccines.

Gardaí say fraudulent texts and calls are asking people for sensitive data, including PPS numbers and dates of birth.

They’re also promising to administer Covid-19 vaccines at home, which can lead to people revealing they live alone or sharing their home address.

The HSE says they will never ask for personal information over the phone or via text and ask anyone who thinks they may have shared their details with a scammer should contact gardaí.
