Her funeral will take place at St. John the Evangelist Church, Ballinteer in Dublin at midday today.

Operation JACKAL has been targeting West African Crime Gangs such as the Black Axe, who have been described as one of the most far-reaching and dangerous organised crime groups in the world.

As part of an investigation into organised criminal activity around the town, plain clothes Gardaí ordered a vehicle to stop near Mullingar yesterday.

The vehicle was recovered in the early hours of this morning in Longford Town.

Deirdre Finn was an off-duty member of An Garda Siochána and was attached to Dun Laoghaire Station in Dublin.
