A local general election candidate says he is now certain the election will be held this autumn.
It's after the Finance Minister Jack Chambers yesterday announced the Budget had been brought forward to October 1st - a week earlier than planned.
But Taoiseach Simon Harris later denied that was a sign the election would be held later this year.
He insists the government will run full term, which would mean the country would go to the polls next March.
But Independent candidate in Longford-Westmeath, Gerry Warnock, expects the election to be held much earlier.
