A new upgrade at a local athletics club has been given the green light by county planners.
Longford Athletics Club, located on the grounds of St. Mel's College, had sought permission for the development of new facilities.
The project comprises of the construction of a new mezzanine floor level, which is proposed to include a new passenger lift and internal escape stairs.

The application also sought permission for the development of a new carkpark area on the grounds.
The project has been approved by Longford county planners, however a Traffic Management Plan is pending to confirm how the works will be undertaken across the site.
