A number of GOAL Miles are set to take place across the Shannonside Region over the next number of days.
The events are organised by local volunteers with money raised going towards the support of GOAL aid initiatives in areas such as Ukraine, Gaza and Syria.
GOAL Miles see hundreds of people take to the streets of their town's, villages or parks in a demonstration of community and solidarity.
Roscommon has already seen two GOAL Miles take place with another set for tomorrow from 10am at Padraig Pearses GAA Club.
In Westmeath, events will be held at Mullingar Shamrock's grounds at Bellview from 10.30 with another at the local park in Multyfarnham from 12pm.
Longford's traditional GOAL Mile will take place from the former Connolly Barracks from 12pm with another event in Rathcline on St Stephen's Day at 12.30pm.
Former GOAL aid worker Tiernan Dolan says the events show the true meaning of Christmas.
