Shannonside Northern Sound has enjoyed Gold success at this year's IMRO Radio Awards.
The Joe Finnegan Show secured the top prize in the Current Affairs Programme Local/Regional category for the interview with the parents of Eden Heaslip called 'Be Buddies Not Bullies’.
The interview kickstarted a huge mental health and suicide awareness campaign and also gathered national recognition for raising the issues of bullying among teenagers and young adults, especially on social media.
The IMRO awards were held in The Lyrath Hotel in Kilkenny on Friday night and Joe Finnegan Show Producer Kevin McDermott accepted the award on behalf of the station.
