Former Independent Councillor Gerry Warnock says it would relieve pressure on the national health system.

The Government has been called on to use some of the Apple Tax windfall to improve local healthcare facilities. On Tuesday, the European Court of Justice ruled Apple must pay the Irish Exchequer €13 billion in backdated taxes. Former Independent Councillor Gerry Warnock says it would relieve pressure on the national health system.

Mr Warnock, who intends to contest the General Election, says regional hospitals would benefit from local upgrades. Speaking to Shannonside News, Mr Warnock said a portion of the funding would go a long way:
