A post-mortem examination is due to take place today on a woman killed in a road crash in Longford on Sunday.
The woman was discovered inside her vehicle at Lisyan in north Longford at around 10.30am on yesterday morning. Gardai in Granard are investigating the circumstances of the single-vehicle incident are appealing for witnesses.
Gardai are urging any road users who were travelling in the area between 6 on Saturday evening and 10:30 on Sunday morning to come forward and they're particularly interested in speaking to those who have dash-cam footage.
The road was closed to carry out a technical examination for much of Sunday but has since re-opened.
It’s understood the woman is from the Castlepollard area of Westmeath originally, but has not yet been officially named.
