Granard and Ballinalee in north Longford are following the lead of Elphin in Roscommon by keeping their Christmas slights on for a few more weeks.
The Roscommon village announced earlier this week that it was going to keep the lights up past the traditional end of the Christmas period on January sixth to bring some much-needed cheer during level 5 lockdown restrictons.
And it has now been confirmed that the committee in Granard are also hoping to keep the lights on until the end of the month, with a similar initiative being planned for other areas nearby.
