Local authorities in the Shannonside Northern Sound region say there is a tight time frame for applications for the Streetscape Enhancement scheme.
Individuals and businesses in 16 towns across Cavan, Monaghan, Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon can avail of up to 80 per cent of costs of improving shop fronts and private homes along main streets.
This can include painting, provision of trees or shrubs lighting, removal of signs or wires and shopfront restoration.
Individual and group applications to each County Council will close in early September with all works to be complete by the end of October.
