Planning permission has been granted for a major housing development in a Longford village. Watters Construction and Rental Ltd have lodged an application for the development at Corry, close to Newtownforbes Village. The homes would consist of 22 semi detached two storey houses, 11 two storey detached units and a selection of detached single and two story houses. Also included in the plans are the provision of a new entrance and access road, green open space and boundary walls.
The plans were the subject of a number of objections from locals who raised concerns that the development would lead to privacy issues and loss of light at neighbouring properties. Longford County Planners approved the application with 16 conditions attached.
