County planners have given the go ahead for the construction of a significant new tourism accommodation development near Leitrim Village.
Plans had been lodged by Drumhienry Holdings Ltd to construct 26 chalets at Drumhienry lodge.
The development would see the construction of the units along with the restoration and change of use of the coach house to a reception area with stairs to the first floor, offices and toilets.
Chalets are common throughout the Alpine regions of Europe and are made of wood, with heavy, gently sloping roofs and wide supported eaves. Plans also include the creation of a recreational footpath and two car parks with a total of 25 car parking spaces.
Permission was granted with 14 conditions attached.
