A Green Party general election candidate says she's fully supportive of the Carrick-on-Shannon bypass going ahead. There are plans for a 5.8 kilometre road around the town, going from the Dublin Road to the Boyle Road.
It's hoped the road will be finished by 2030, to solve major tailbacks in Carrick every weekend. The Green Party's Blaithin Gallagher, from Drumkeerin, says she's confident it will go ahead:
