The Green Party has expressed concerns over the recent decision to remove a significant number of trees along the N4 in Carrick-on-Shannon. 24 of the 98 tree, located on the Dublin Road, were deemed to be in poor health following surveys by two separate companies. The party's local area representative for Carrick has said the decision exacerbates an ongoing biodiversity crisis in the North Shannon region.
