The facility is the worst hit in the region and the second busiest nationally, with 43 people on trolleys.
The hospital has reported serious over crowding over the last month and is routinely one of the busiest Emergency Departments in the country.
A total of 85 people are on trolleys across the region today, with University Hospital Galway reporting 23 patients waiting for beds today.
Midlands Regional Hospitals in Mullingar and Tullamore have 10 and 6 people respectively on trolleys this afternoon.
While Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe has the lowest figures locally, with 3 people in the Hospital's Emergency Department waiting on a bed.
