Patients who have had hospital appointments cancelled as a result of the cyberattack on the HSE computer system will not go to the back of the queue.
CEO of the Saolta Hospital group Tony Canavan estimated that up to 10,000 appointments across hospitals in Roscommon, Galway, Sligo, Mayo and Donegal were affected by the loss of IT systems.
While many outpatient clinics are still not running, key services such as radiotherapy in UHG are taking place with some functionality restored in laboratory and radiology services in many of the hospitals within the Saolta group.
Mr Canavan says it will take some time to get all systems, surgery, and clinics back open fully but people who have had appointments cancelled will be prioritised:
