The Health Minister says he will not speculate on what the final cost of the National Children’s Hospital might be.
BAM has submitted around 750 million euro in claims which threatens to escalate the cost of the project to over two billion euro.
However the Government says it rejects the majority of these claims.
Minister Stephen Donnelly says speculating could actually increase the final cost of the Children’s Hospital.
'It would be very unhelpful for me, or the Taoiseach , or the Tanáiste , to say "well we believe the final agreement might be in the following area."
Because that will immediately empower certain parties to bid for more money.
To be honest, I know I hear Sinn Fein keep asking the question, but I think they fully understand the answer being given.'
