A west Roscommon Councillor is renewing his call for a minor works scheme along a stretch of the N60.
Pascal Fitzmaurice's says the road is too narrow for lorries and the verge is substandard.
He claims in the last seven days alone two trucks have almost left the road one close to Meelicaduff between Ballinlough and Castlerea.
Councillor Fitzmaurice says he got assurances this road could be upgraded under the TII minor works scheme and he now renewing this call.
'I'm asking consistently Roscommon County Council and I also brought it up with the TII in Dublin last year where they conceded it must be done.
I also met with TII in Roscommon and they conceded that it should be done and that we should be applying for a minor works scheme for this.
A minor works scheme is actually under 20 million euro so it is an achievable project.
I've also highlighted to Minister Jack Chambers who is a minister in the transport department and he hopes to come down to view the road with me in the next couple of weeks.
I'm extremely worried about it.'
