Longford's Love Island celebrity Maura Higgins has donated up to 200 items of clothing to local charity shops.
The branches of the Society of St Vincent de Paul in Athlone, Longford, Mullingar and Tubbercurry are raffling opportunities for a restricted number of people to gain access to stores for the special sales events, which are being managed in accordance with social distancing requirements.
Each event will have around 40 "preloved by Maura" items on sale at regular prices after Maura emphasised the need for the clothes to be made available and affordable to young people in the midlands.
Some of the Ballymahon native's items will also be loaded up to online charity shop "Thriftify.ie" which SVP has recently partnered with.
There has been significant interest in the Athlone event on the SVP Ireland Facebook and Instagram pages already, with hundreds of likes and shares.
National Retail Development Manager of The Society of St Vincent de Paul Dermot McGilloway says the donation came as a wonderful surprise.
Mr McGilloway says they would have loved to have thrown open the doors and had a big party for everyone to come and enjoy, but raffling off the opportunities online was the fairest way to go.
