Half of all vehicles tested last year failed the NCT.
Data published by cartakeback.ie shows Cavan has the highest failure rate in the country at 61%.
This is followed by Athlone at 59% and Carrick-on-Shannon, where 58% of tests were failed.
Monaghan and Castlerea are also in the top 5, both holding a failure rate of 56% respectively.
Over 1 point 7 million NCTs were carried out last year - with the majority of failures for steering and suspension problems.
