The higher planning authority has reversed a local county council decision to refuse permission for a new telemcom mast.
Roscommon County Council refused permission for the 21 metre high monopole mast in Clonfad in April of last year.
Eircom trading as Eir has applied for the structure but was refused on grounds including that the development would be 'injurious to the visual amenity.'
The refusal was referred to An Bord Pleanála by Eircom, where the higher planning body reversed the decision of the local authority.
Planning permission has now been granted for the 21 metre structure at Cloonfad East, with new conditions attached.
