There has been a further 93 Covid-19 deaths - the highest daily figure since the start of the pandemic.
It beats the previous record of 77 deaths recorded on April 20th last year.
An additional 2,001 new cases have also been confirmed.

18 new cases were recorded in Roscommon, and fewer than five in Longford and Leitrim.
Meanwhile, the number of people in hospital with the disease now stands at 1,949, while 202 are in intensive care.
