Service users were observed enjoying communal meals and a range of social activities during the inspection.

The centre was marked as fully compliant in areas including staffing, healthcare, fire safety and visiting, with a number of other substantial compliances.

Families requiring the service in the South Leitrim region have been forced to travel to North Leitrim or out of the county to access the vital support.

Overall the inspector observed that the centre was very clean and in a good state of repair.

Many families in south Leitrim have no nearby facility to use and the situation was described in May as an emergency.

The centre was found to be fully compliant in a number areas.

Sligo University Hospital was among those inspected and, on the day of inspection, the waiting time from triage to medical review ranged from 5 minutes to 12 hours and 4 minutes with an average of 4 hours 14 minutes.
