The Shannonside Northern Sound region will be a major target of future foreign direct investment.
That's according to Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Neale Richmond, who visited Longford today for a number of engagements.
The Minister with responsibility for employment and retail businesses met with county Councillors and Local Enterprise Office Staff this morning at County Hall, before meeting members of the town's Chamber of Commerce in the afternoon.
Longford Councillors have previously called for more investment to be made in the town and surrounding region in the form of an advanced business park for IDA clients.
