It's hoped almost 1,000 premises in Carrick-on-Shannon will be connected to fibre in December of this year.
The NBI says work is well underway on the rollout of the national broadband plan in Leitrim with premises in the county town surveyed and network designs completed.
There are approximately 12,000 premises in the Intervention Area which includes homes, farms, commercial businesses and schools.
Leitrim will see an investment of €46M in its new high speed fibre network.
The most up to date status of each premises during the rollout is available by visiting the NBI website.
