Hopes of success are building in Roscommon ahead of the 95th Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles this Sunday.
Three local musicians feature prominently in the 'The Banshees of Inisherin' which has been nominated for nine awards.
John Carty along with his son James and Strokestown dancer Ryan Owens all play the role of musicians, while 'Jenny the Donkey' was trained by Knockvicar resident Megan Hines.
A special pre-oscars party will be held in Spell's Bar Ballaghaderreen on Sunday at 7pm and will feature 'The Banshees Ceili Band.'
Speaking to Shannonside FM John Carty says he's has high hopes for the film.
"Brendan Gleeson got in touch with me and we met at his place and sought out a couple of tunes that we thought might suit the scene. We met all the cast and crew who were so welcoming to us musicians and little did we think that Oscar nominations were going to be involved. It's really exciting for all the team. I really wish them the best. The Banshees Ceili Band will be in action over at Spell's Bar to celebrate what we hope will be a rewarding night for everyone involved".
The 95th Academy Awards will take place on Sunday at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
