Leitrim County Council is to consider almost 60 submissions on the proposed Mohill Public Realm Works.
58 submissions have been made from 54 individuals on the plans, which include enhancing footpaths and pedestrian crossings, new street lighting, modifications to the front boundary of St Mary’s Church, and a vertical landscape feature at the Butter market.
While there’s general welcome for the proposed investment, there had been some concern over the potential loss of 10 car parking spaces, which Shannonside Northern Sound news understands features in many of the submissions.
Leitrim County Council will not comment on the nature of them until planners have had reviewed them all and prepared a report for the elected members of Carrick-on-Shannon Municipal District for the next meeting on November 26th.
Councillor Enda Stenson says he’s hopeful a compromise can be reached on the car parking issue.
