A Granard councillor is calling on the local authority to make some progress on a multi-million euro refurbishment of Colmcille Terrace in the town.
A plan to refurbish 12 derelict houses in the estate was announced by the then Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy in May of 2018, but no work has taken place as yet.
Longford Council is working in partnership with the housing agency TUA on the project and it's understood a final meeting is to take place next week between the two agencies.
Councillor Turlough McGovern says he hopes residents in the terrace can look forward to some work finally beginning.
He says some of the houses were built in the 40's, and they've seen little or no maintenance in recent years.
