Local politicians are appealing for updates on the 'shelved' project.

A Junior Minister is hopeful that funding will still be allocated to major road project in Roscommon next year.

Phase one and two of the Ballymurray to Knockcroghery bypass were completed last year, however, at a meeting of Roscommon County Council this month, elected members were told that no money was available to carry out the design and environmental process.

The decision by TII not to provide funding was condemned by local politicians who have described the move as deeply disappointing.
