It's hoped that Mohil's Main Street will reopen next week as stabilisation and safety works commence on a dangerous building in the town.
Leitrim County Council closed Upper Main Street earlier this month following significant structural integrity concerns at a local derelict pub.
Falling masonry from the building's facade was identified as a threat to pedestrians and motorists.
Following continuous engagement between the property owner and the Local Authority, a plan of remedial work has begun to stabilize the building and remove the threat to the public.
Local Councillor Thomas Mulligan has welcomed the quick response of both the owner and the council in addressing the situation.
