There are hopes a Local Link bus service in west Roscommon will be expanded to include more areas. There are various local bus routes leaving Castlerea, going to places like Sligo and Ballinasloe.
There is also a Local Link service for Castlerea itself, going around the town and to different estates. Local councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice says he believes this is going to be extended:
