Hopes that Roscommon woman detained in Dubai could return home next week

Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald told the Dáil yesterday that 28 year old Tori Towey has been the victim of domestic violence and is now facing criminal charges.

There are hopes that a Roscommon woman who is currently detained in Dubai, may be able to return home next week. Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald told the Dáil yesterday that 28 year old Tori Towey has been the victim of domestic violence and is now facing criminal charges. The Ballaghaderreen native moved to the country last year and has been working as a flight attendant for Emirates Airlines.

Taoiseach Simon Harris confirmed yesterday that he is ready to intervene in the case and the Department of Foreign Affairs are also currently liaising with the Irish ambassador to the UAE. Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show, founder of Detained in Dubai, Radha Stirling, who has been following the case closely, says she hopes that Tori will be able to return home next week:
