Local hospitals are facing overcrowding once again today with dozens of patients waiting on trolleys across the region.
Sligo University Hospital and the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar are among the busiest facilities in the country.
According to the latest INMO figures, there are 25 people currently waiting in the Emergency Department in Sligo and 37 people waiting for a bed overall. Mullingar has 17 patients in its Emergency Department and 20 waiting overall.
Elsewhere, there are seven patients in the Emergency Department at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda while there are eight patients waiting at Cavan General Hospital, and two at Our Lady's Hospital in Navan. There are no patients waiting at Portiuncula.
Nationally, University Hospital Limerick is the busiest facility in the country with a total of 106 people waiting for a bed. Cork University Hospital with 59 patients, and University Hospital Galway with 47 are also extremely busy.
Overall, there are 528 patients waiting for beds across the country.
