The housing crisis is continuing to have an effect on local students heading to college.
With only 68 rentable houses listed on Daft.ie across the entire Shannonside Northern Sound region, students are increasingly troubled by the lack of available accomodation.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show today, local second-year media student Ralph McKeon expressed his difficulty with finding accomodation near campus at Maynooth University.
The student from Leitrim explained that while he is thankful that transport is relatively cheap, setting off early every morning is far from ideal:
