A man whose wife died after being diagnosed with cervical cancer says her blood is on the government's hands.
Stephen Teap was speaking outside court, after the HSE and two US laboratories admitted liability in the case of Irene Teap, whose smear tests were misread.
She died in 2017.
The Irish Examiner's Elaine O' Loughlin says Mr Teap called for a proper health system for Irish women.
"Speaking outside the court, Mr Teap said the blood of his beautiful wife and the incredible friends he has made who've passed away, and he mentioned the late Vicky Phelan, that their blood is on the government's hands and of those politicians who failed to listen. He called on the government and politicians to repair the damage that has been done over many years and to put in place a proper health system for the women of Ireland".
