The HSE are being called on to take action and decide the future of the former Health Centre in Ballygar that was destroyed in a fire three years ago. One of the buildings on the site was gutted, while another received severe smoke damage. Three years on and the HSE are reviewing the accommodation requirements for Primary Care Services in the Ballygar area, with the service operating from a former nursing home since the fire.
HSE management confirmed that the primary care services are of the opinion that the original footprint will not provide the necessary accommodation for both GP and enhanced Primary Care Services with car parking.
